Popcorn is a classic movie snack that always works, right? However, with microwave popcorn or other store bought versions, we can never be sure what we’re getting. If you want to make popcorn at home with only two ingredients, try the recipe below!
Ingredients (serves 2):
3 tablespoons corn kernels (specifically for popcorn)
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Instructions:
Heat up a little bit of oil in a coated pan on medium heat with the lid on. Once it’s hot, add the corn kernels. There shouldn’t be more than one layer of corn at the bottom of the pan. If your pan is small, just make half of the popcorn first and the other half after that.
Once the corn is in the pan, put the lid on and leave the pan on medium heat.If you feel like your corn is burning, you can move the pan around a little bit. Otherwise, just leave it alone. After 3-4 minutes, the corn should start popping. Now, start moving your pan around a little to get as many kernels as possible to pop.
Once the popping stops, take the pan off the heat. Add the maple syrup to the pan right away while the popcorn is still hot and mix well, so that all the popcorn gets covered in a little bit of syrup. Enjoy!
